GOSPEL

📖 The Gospel

The Bible explains that a problem exists between God and man. Man was created with free will, but our first father, Adam, chose to disobey God’s command. When that happened, sin entered the world. The perfect conditions at creation were lost, and all of creation fell into disorder. Man, who was once meant to live in God’s presence and enjoy fellowship with Him, could no longer do so.

God is perfect and holy. Nothing imperfect can dwell in His presence. But God, in His wisdom, foresaw this. He knew that without experiential knowledge, man could not fully appreciate or understand Him. In sinning, man gained this knowledge — but at a devastating cost.

Evil — the absence of goodness — now abounds. It exists in our hearts and all around us in countless ways. Sin is the problem. And the Bible reveals what God has done to solve it.

Throughout history, God has unfolded a redemptive plan — step by step — so that in the end, every question would be answered and every heart can understand the beauty of His salvation.

This is the purpose of the Bible: to explain how God has restored the relationship broken by sin. Though it takes a lifetime to study fully, the heart of its message — the gospel — is simple.

The Good News of Jesus Christ

God became man in the womb of a virgin. Christ Jesus, the God-Man, was born under the law that He Himself gave to Israel. He lived a sinless life before the Father, and then He offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sins.

The Bible says:

“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
– 2 Corinthians 5:20–21

This is what the cross represents: God’s wrath for sin was poured out on Jesus. Through faith in what Jesus has done, God credits His righteousness to everyone who believes.

Because Jesus never sinned, death could not hold Him. On the third day, He rose again. His resurrection proves that our sins are fully forgiven. If sin remained on Him, He would not have risen — but He conquered death in His righteousness and removed our guilt forever!

The Gospel in a Nutshell

The good news of Jesus Christ is summed up in 1 Corinthians 15:

“Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved...
...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”
– 1 Corinthians 15:1–4

The Old Testament foretold this. The New Testament confirmed it. All God asks is that you believe this simple gospel. Place your faith in Jesus — the Lord who loves you and died so that you may live.

Through faith in Him, your sin debt is paid. God promises that He will raise you to eternal life in His presence forever.

“In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.”
– Ephesians 1:13 (CSB)

Believe the gospel. Then spend time learning to know this wonderful Savior by reading His Word daily.
